At Auntie Dot's Robots I create bespoke and unique 'scrap art' using unwanted items that have been given to me, bought in charity shops, found at flea markets, saved from skips, rescued from bins and bought.
I've always loved tinkering with objects and making things. I like bringing unwanted items back to life, giving objects a second chance and creating something whimsical and quirky.
When I begin making a robot, I look at the appearance of the 'junk' for inspiration. The size, colour, look and feel of an item, is often the catalyst for each new robot. I then rejuvenate the junk and build unique robots, each with its own distinctive look, character and personality.
'Robot HQ' is a small shed that is full of 'bits and bobs' and items that, 'may come in handy one day!'
I often spend more time in the shed, than in the house!
